Washington Nursing License and Renewals: What You Need to Know

Things to know about obtaining your Washington State nursing license:

  • License turnaround is 8 – 10 weeks
  • Temp license takes 2 -3 weeks and is good for 6 months
  • We’ll assist you with your application fee
  • You’ll need to have completed seven hours of HIV-AIDS education – which may include self-study, courses or formal training.
  • Once your application is received, you must provide fingerprints
  • Washington State is NURSYS participating
  • You’ll be required to submit fingerprints for the background check and you must obtain your fingerprints on the Department of Health fingerprint card
